Kemeta Breath Analyzer for Fat Metabolism

The Kemeta breath analyzer utilizes a highly sensitive, patented biosensor that selectively detects a broad concentration range of acetone in the breath. The sensor is selective to breath acetone therefore other breath compounds typically present in healthy individuals do not cause interference that effects the accuracy of the analyzer.

Breath acetone has been studied since the early 1960's and is scientifically accepted as a reliable and real-time indicator of a healthy individual's fat metabolism during dieting and exercise regimens. Breath acetone may also be used to monitor post weight loss-surgery patient's fat loss and monitor patients on ketogenic diets to control epilepsy. Unintentionally elevated breath acetone levels can also occur as a result of clinical conditions such as uncontrolled type 1, 2 and gestational diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis and other unintentional fat metabolism due to cachexia, hyperthyroisism or other uncontrolled metabolic conditions.

The Kemeta sensor can detect breath acetone over a broad range of concentrations, and is sensitive down to the baseline levels that occur with no intentional diet or exercise. The acetone concentrations measured by the Kemeta analyzer are comparable to GC-MS results, long considered to be the analytical laboratory standard for the detection of components in human breath.

Kemeta Update

Kemeta and Kronos Science Laboratories of Phoenix, Arizona, have successfully completed the first of an ongoing series of clinical studies designed to bring the Kemeta system closer to product launch.
